Rules for summer league
1. All matches must be played to the A.E.N.A. rules
2. Matches are to be four quarters of 14 minutes with 2 minutes break at quarter time and 4 minutes at half time.
3. Matches start and finish on the umpire's whistle. The klaxon or horn will signal the start and finish of each game.
4. If matches start on time you have 6 minutes stoppage time for injuries, no extra time is allowed.
5. Both teams must supply a qualified umpire: Divisions 1-4 must be Preliminary, C Award or higher and Divisions 5-8 must be Beginner Award or higher.
6. Both teams must complete a scorecard and place in the box by the gate. Please make sure your card is completed fully, as you will lose any points from your game if it is incorrect. Please complete the opposing Player of the Match.
7. If a game is cancelled for any reason (other than by a Committee Member) Mandy must be notified by BOTH teams. Whichever team cancels will have three points deducted.
8. A Committee Member will be responsible for all the keys and for putting on the floodlights when they are needed.
9. The teams playing in the 7pm games must take a post from the garage to use on their court if they are not already out. The teams playing in the 8.15pm games MUST put the posts back in the garage.
10. Players can only play for ONE CLUB in this league. This applies to regular and 'one-off' situations, which means that if you use someone who is not registered with you, you need to check whether they have already played the odd game for another team, in which case you can not use them.
11. All players must register for a club, and if the club has more than one team, they must register for a particular team in that club. In the case of a club with two or more teams, a player can play for a higher team within the club twice, but on the 3rd occasion becomes a member of the higher team and can not play back down.
12. Everyone is responsible for their own refreshments. If you bring bottles, cartons etc, please ensure that you take them away with you.
13. Please remember that one coach may coach from a set position at the side of the court. They must not move up and down the court.
14. Spectators can encourage their team and applaud good play by both teams, but they MUST NOT coach their team or criticise the umpires or make comments about the opponents.
15. Remember that players’ nails MUST be SHORT. This means that they are not visible above your fingertips. Taping of long nails is not acceptable.
16. All players’ visible body piercings MUST be removed. Again, taping is not allowed.
17. Plain, short hats are acceptable if they are not dangerous. Hair clips are at the discretion of both umpires. Long hair must be tied back.
18. Velcro style bibs must NOT be attached to players' t-shirts by safety pins or other sharp objects. If a bib cannot be attached safely (umpire's discretion) then normal bibs must be used.
19. All players MUST wear a skirt or dress, any player not doing so will not be allowed to enter the Court.
